Company History
Savoy Systems Ltd is a UK owned and managed company with offices in Nottingham and London. The company was formed in 2006 to market and support Oscar, our ticketing, retail and marketing Box Office system.
Development of Oscar began in 2005 and the first installation took place at the Savoy Cinema in Nottingham in June 2006.
Over the last five years we have successfully installed at Oscar at 50 venues around the UK and Ireland including cinemas, theatres, schools and arts centres.
The Team
Patrick Hort graduated from Oxford University in 1993 with a degree in Physics. He developed complex software solutions for a variety of companies including UBS Investment Bank, LM UK (Nectar Card) and CHP Consulting Ltd before founding Savoy Systems in 2005. Patrick is Managing Director of Savoy Systems.
James Collington graduated from Cambridge University in 1993 with a degree in Electrical and Information Sciences. He continued at Cambridge for a further 3 years and received a Ph.D. in 1997. In addition to running Savoy Systems Ltd, James owns Savoy Cinemas Ltd, an independent cinema operator with venues in Nottingham, Boston and Worksop.
David Mew graduated from Nottingham University in 2007 with a degree in Mathematics. David joined Savoy Systems Ltd in 2009 and is responsible for installation, training and support of the Oscar Box Office system. He is also our web master and in-house graphic designer.
David Polhill graduated from Lancaster University in 1994 with a degree in Environmental Science, and completed a masters in Operational Research from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1997. He has since worked as an Analyst for British Rail, a Software Developer for AEA Technology, and as a Technical Architect for Delta Rail. He joined Savoy Systems as a Senior Developer in 2010.
