The Galaxy Cinema in Long Eaton is England's oldest cinema. It has recently been refurbished after a long period of neglect, and re-opened its doors in January 2007.

With the initial requirement being for ticket sales only, Oscar was installed prior to opening, with both Oscar Back Office and Oscar Point of Sale configured to run on the same PC in the Box Office. No internet booking or Credit Card processing facilities were installed.

This configuration greatly reduced the initial cost but leaves open the option of updgrading to a more comprehensive Oscar installation in due course.
