The Lace Market Theatre
The Lace Market Theatre is a small independent amateur theatre in the centre of Nottingham. With a varied programme and a significant membership base, but a largely manual box office system, the theatre decided that it was time to invest in a system to provide internet sales along with an integrated marketing and membership database, and the ability to process Chip and PIN credit card payments.
Working closely with the Lace Market Theatre, Savoy Systems Ltd enhanced Oscar to include all of the features required to run membership schemes, multi-buy discounts (e.g. buy a ticket for both Richard III and Macbeth and get £1 off each ticket), and direct marketing.
The Lace Market purcahsed their own hardware and set up the network themselves. Oscar was then installed remotely by Savoy Systems and live operation began in November 2007. Oscar's intuitive interface means that it can be operated by a wide variety of the theatre's volunteers.
