The Savoy Cinema in Nottingham is an independently owned and operated cinema. It has four screens and a licensed bar.
With the installation of Oscar in June 2006, the Savoy Cinema was able to take advantage of state-of-the-art Point of Sale software without having to upgrade its computer network.
Point of Sale hardware including Ticket Printers, Touch Screen Displays and Credit Card Terminals was purchased and installed, and the Oscar software was installed on a combination of new and existing hardware in order to minimise cost.
Optional module Oscar Web was installed to facilitate internet booking, and another optional module Oscar Pickup Point was later installed in the foyer to allow customers to retrieve pre-booked tickets.
Oscar's support for Chip and Pin now means that the Savoy Cinema can take Credit Card Payments in compliance with Bank Regulations. The use of Chip and Pin helps to reduce card acquirer charges and introduces the latest security features.
